AET has begun to make the move into LNG-powered ships. Two of the four aframax tankers it is building at Hyundai Heavy Industries are designed with dual-fuel propulsion systems.
The pair, scheduled for delivery in the third quarter of 2018, was ordered for AET’s own spot trading, although president and chief executive Rajalingam Subramaniam says the ships have been attracting a lot of interest from long-term charterers.
