A little-known Greek company owned by a daughter of Greek tycoon George Procopiou and her husband is being linked to the purchase of a Japanese-held VLCC in Singapore this week.
Prominence Maritime is understood to have picked up the 300,000-dwt Taizan (built 2002) for about $15.5m.
Japan’s Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) had circulated the NKK Corp-built vessel for sale last month.
