An Australian woman’s 132-year-old beach find now holds the official world record as the oldest message in a bottle ever recovered.
Perth resident Tonya Illman spotted a brown-glass bottle in remote beach dunes, about 180 kilometres (112 miles) north of her city, and grabbed it to use as an ornament.
But inside the bottle her family discovered a rolled up note detailing the date and ship from which it came.
