Nobu Su-led Taiwanese shipping company Today Makes Tomorrow (TMT) has incurred the wrath of several suppliers over tardy bill payments.

No less than two TMT vessels have had brief spells under arrest after suppliers grew impatient waiting for the company to pay seemingly trivial amounts of cash.

In Singapore, the 320,000-dwt ore/bulk/oil carrier E Whale (built 2010) spent several hours under arrest last Thursday after ship chandler Amos International petitioned the courts with a SGD 50,000 ($41,000) claim for unpaid materials that were supplied to the ship on several occasions between August 2010 and January 2011.
