One of the most illustrious of American maritime law firms is closing its doors after 150 years.

Burlingham Underwood is going the way of some of the most famous ships it represented, such as the Titanic, Andrea Doria and Amoco Cadiz.

The New York-based admiralty firm has been shrinking for years as clients moved to Connecticut, New Jersey, Texas and Louisiana.

It will have just four partners and a total staff of less than 20 when it shuts shop at the end of next month.
