OOCL transatlantic trades director Courtenay Allan was fatally injured last week in an accident onboard the Hong Kong liner group's 4,400-teu newbuilding OOCL Montreal.

Allan, who was 53, died after sustaining multiple fractures and other injuries when a lift malfunctioned and he fell down the shaft.

He was well known throughout the industry after a career spent mainly in the Atlantic container business, which included work with the transatlantic conferences TACA and TAA.
