Five men have been found guilty by a Yemen court of the bombing of the 300,000-dwt VLCC Limburg (built 2000) and have been sentenced to 10 years in jail.

Among the five was Mohammed Hamdi al-Ahdal, who has been described as one of the top al-Qaeda members in Yemen.

The French-flag vessel was hit by an explosive-laden craft on 6 October 2002 while waiting to proceed into the Ash Shihr terminal to load crude.
