The Superferry 14 fire, which claimed 116 lives in the Philippines, has been blamed on the Abu Sayyaf terrorist group, linked with al-Qaeda.

Police have been instructed to hunt down suspected leaders Khaddafy Janjalani and Abu Soliman and two other members of the terrorist organisation. Four other suspects have already been held by Philippine police. An examination of the wreck of the 10,000-gt Superferry 14 (built 1981), which took five months to right, revealed twisted metal consistent with a bomb explosion.
