Allegations from the International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF) that outstanding wages were taken back twice from the crew of a ship in Liverpool after they had been repaid have been strongly denied by the owner.

The ongoing saga involves $230,000 in outstanding wages allegedly owed to crew on the 917-teu Philipp (built 2008), which was docked at Liverpool port.

Repayment was negotiated through the ITF and paid back to the crew in Liverpool by representatives of Vega Manila Crew Management on 4 October.
