George Economou's Cardiff Marine has finally sold one of its capesize bulkers after months of renegotiations at a large discount. The sale is also the first time a capesize has been sold for further trading since the summer.
Sources close to the deal confirm the 207,000-dwt Corossol (built 1989) has gone to undisclosed Chinese interests for just under $25m. The price represents a drop in values of 70% since July, when the Corossol was committed for $85m with delivery this month.
