French liner group CMA CGM is changing partners on a major north-south trade.

The Marseilles-based company has dumped Mediterranean Shipping Co (MSC) in favour of Chilean operator Compania Sud Americana de Vapores (CSAV).

CMA CGM says it is upgrading its Victory Bridge service from October, replacing the one previously operated with MSC, and will deploy five vessels of 3,000 teu.

Three vessels will be provided by CMA CGM and two by CSAV for the trade, linking Northern Europe to the US South Atlantic, Mexico and the US Gulf.
