Norway’s offshore sector is seeing a rise in activity among parties interested in newbuilding deals but financing is still said to be standing in the way of the smaller players.
Some brokers have noted the increased visibility in recent months of shipbuilders’ sales personnel, who seem to be travelling to meet potential clients.
Various newbuilding contracts have also been signed recently, such as for LNG-powered offshore vessels for the likes of Eidesvik Offshore and Solstad Offshore, to name just two.
