ABU DHABI Shipbuilding Company (ADSB) is pressing ahead with plans to
build a new facility capable of building and repairing commercial and
naval vessels, a first for the Gulf. The $100m scheme is scheduled for
completion in 2001.
The first phase involves the construction of a 6,000-tonne capacity ship
lift, four ship- repair berths capable of accommodating up to six
vessels and two ship-assembly halls capable of building two naval and
two commercial vessels concurrently.
