Morten Arntzen, who left his position seven months ago as head of
shipping at Chase to join AMA, said the huge upsurge in capital market
business made it the perfect time to launch American Marine Securities.
His plans to grow the business will be given a significant boost with
an expected announcement that a major European ship lending bank is to
take a 25% stake in AMA.
Currently, the majority shareholder in AMA is Norway's Astrup Fearnley
group, which has a 37% holding.
