Newship Nusamersama, the Indonesian arm of Robert Kuok’s Pacific Carriers, has emerged as the winner of a three-year VLGC tender from oil major Pertamina.
Newship has bought the 78,000-cbm BW Captain (built 1991) from BW Gas for a very firm $30m for the job. Brokers say they recently valued the ship at $24m.
Kumiai Navigation of Singapore is set to sell the one-year-older, 75,000-cbm Pacific Harmony (built 1990) for an expected price of between $21m and $23m.
