If Berlian Laju Tanker (BLT)’s chemical business navigates successfully through the challenges of the owner’s financial restructuring, it aims to emerge leaner, reducing in size by one-third, together with building a more modern fleet profile.

BLT Chembulk Group boss Jack Noonan says the Indonesian shipowner’s chemical-tanker divisions are targeting a fleet of 40 stainless-steel vessels, down from 60 ships before the parent sought bankruptcy protection.
