Demolition cash buyer Wirana has locked horns with Piraeus-based Naftilos Shipmanagement over the failed sale of a 41,600-dwt bulker for scrapping.
Both sides are threatening legal action. Naftilos denies claims it has run away from a deal so that it can capitalise on rising demolition prices in India.
Rossmere International, offshore principal of Wirana, claims that sellers Naftilos failed to deliver the 1986-built ship despite a “clean, confirmed and cleared recap” of 27 September 2012.
