Local newspaper reports detail that project co-ordinator Gas Sayago, a joint venture between Uruguayan state energy companies Ute and Ancap, has honed its list of 12 pre-qualified bidders down to GDF Suez, Samsung C&T offering in partnership with Korea Gas Corp, Hoegh LNG and Enagas.
Existing FSRU players Golar LNG and Excelerate Energy are not named. Sources following the process indicate the build, own and operation and transfer terms that require the selected party to construct jetties and breakwaters may have discouraged some players.
