Deutsche Afrika-Linien (DAL)/John T Essberger Group is pressing ahead with a $150m boxship order.
The German group has booked up to six 2,200-teu vessels with the Zhejiang Yangfan shipyard in China, say broking sources.
The deal is understood to comprise a firm order for four ships, plus two options, priced at around $26m each.
The price is higher than some had anticipated and may point to a bottoming-out of prices for this class of vessel.
