Wisby Tankers of Sweden remains guarded about a recent project for a series of medium-range (MR) products tankers at Croatia’s 3 Maj shipyard.
Yard boss Edi Kucan says the company has signed a letter of intent (LOI) for up to six 49,000-tonners, a big boost for both the Rijeka-based yard and Croatian shipbuilding, which has struggled to win orders for conventional tonnage because of price competition from the Far East.
