Greek owner Quintana Shipping continues to swell its fleet with newbuildings — this time with an order for up to three capesize bulkers.
The company has commissioned South Korea’s Sungdong Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co to build the 180,000-dwt vessels for delivery in 2015, according to sources. One describes the deal as for two firm vessels plus one option.
The Athens-based company, backed by coal trader Corbin Robertson Jr, apparently penned the contract in March but the deal was never reported.
