German owner Johann MK Blumenthal has reportedly returned to China for more capesize bulker newbuildings, while also selling its oldest large bulker for demolition.
Sources say the Hamburg-based owner has signed up for two 180,000-dwt ships at Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding (SWS) for delivery in 2016. The vessels are likely to cost around $47.5m each. It is unclear whether the deal includes options for further units.
