The repercussions of STX Pan Ocean’s bankruptcy are being felt in the boxship sector, with Dioryx Shipping looking to be bearing the brunt.

The Greek owner has four panamaxes — the 4,398-teu STX Patriaikos, STX Corinthiakos (both built 2010), STX Pagasitikos and STX Maliakos (both built 2012) — on long term charters to the South Korean operator.

They were fixed for 10 years at $30,000 per day in 2007 but Dimitris Papadimitriou led Dioryx is unlikely to get even one third of that in the current market.
