Denmark’s Clipper Group is set to exit the tanker market.

Group chief executive Kristian Morch confirms the company has sold its four VLCCs to the ships’ charterer, Sinochem of China.

It means that on the tanker front Copenhagen-based Clipper is left holding upwards of 30% in Nordic Shipholding, plus 15 owned chemical tankers.

Morch said: “We are set for a quiet exit from the tanker scene in order to concentrate on dry bulk, which is our core business.”
