Chinese owner and operator Sea Star Ships continues to sell its elderly bulkers for demolition.
The 207,000-dwt Macau Mineral (built 1989) has been sold domestically, likely fetching $8m. It was bought as Corossol for $25m in late 2008.
The sale means at least 35 bulkers of capesize and larger have been sold for recycling this year, but it is the first scrap sale of a large vessel since September.
