There is little doubt that the drive to order eco-design bulkers is in full swing.
Recent weeks have seen the likes of Polys Hajiaonnou’s Safe Bulkers, Genco spin-off Baltic Trading and Oslo’s Western Bulk add tonnage with the trendy “eco” tag. And that is not to mention the haul of eco-ships in the fleet of nascent Scorpio Bulkers.
However, the debate over these fuel-efficient bulkers’ impact on the market continues to rage.
