Insolvency proceedings have begun against two larger containerships managed by Reederei Claus-Peter Offen.
The KG (limited partnership) companies that own the 5,770-teu Santa Victoria (built 2001) and Santa Virginia (built 2002) are the latest to fall into the hands of administrators.
Shipmanager Offen is understood to have informed investors last month that the two KGs needed a capital increase but shareholders are understood to have shown little interest in coughing up more cash to bail them out.
