In June, Star Bulk Carriers’ market capitalisation stood at around $30m. Less than seven months later, its combined New York-listed shares are now worth more than $230m.
That is just one statistic that shows what company executives and outside analysts say has been a transformation of this Petros Pappas-backed shipowner.
“Star Bulk today is a different company than it used to be a year ago,” chief executive Spyros Capralos told TradeWinds in a recent interview.
