They are being installed at Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering in China on four 27,500-cbm, LNG-fuelled vessels designed to carry both ethane and LNG for Danish outfit Evergas.
BV says two of the tanks will be supplemented by a third conical Type C cargo tank and a smaller LNG fuel tank on the deck. Evergas vice-president Ralph Juhl said: “These bilobe tanks enable us to have a flat main deck and they give us much better carrying capacity compared to cylindrical tanks in the same-sized ship.”
