Polsteam adds four handysize open-hatch bulkers at Yangfan

The Polish owner’s latest quartet of newbuildings in China, priced at more than $23m apiece, is said to be costing slightly more than the company’s earlier quartet under a new contract

Polish Steamship Co (Polsteam) has doubled its tally of newbuildings at Yangfan Group.

The European bulker giant has added four more open-hatch handysizes at the Chinese facility, lifting the total to eight, and a yard official confirms the deal.

The Szczecin-based owner will take delivery of the latest ships in the second half of 2016.

Polsteam signed up for its earlier quartet in August for delivery in early 2016.
