George N Moundreas confirms the deal and adds that the New Times-built, 113,000-dwt STI Spirit (built 2008) will be delivered in the next one to two months.
The owner is said to have paid $31m to secure the ship. Moundreas was not able to confirm the price but says the suggested figure is “about there”. Scorpio bought the tanker in 2010 for a reported $52.2m.
