Work has started on a new LNG-import project in the Dominican Republic, where BW Gas is teaming up with the developers to provide floating aspects of the facility.

A breaking-ground ceremony, attended by the country’s president, Danilo Medina, was held last week at the site near San Pedro de Marcoris on the southern coast of the Caribbean island.

BW Maritime managing director Yngvil Asheim tells TradeWinds that BW Gas has signed a Joint Development Agreement (JDA) to work with project partners InterEnergy Holdings, Vicini Group, Promigas, Tropigas and Propagas.
