Auditors of George Economou’s DryShips have expressed doubts about the company’s ability to continue as a going concern as a result of covenant breaches in the shipping segment of its operation.
The “going concern” opinion is disclosed in DryShips’ annual report for 2013 but the company says it is negotiating waivers, extensions and restructuring with lenders, and does not expect banks to call in the debt before its scheduled maturity.
