Greece’s Tsakos Group has seemingly built up a big appetite for capesize-bulker newbuildings but as yet has not inked any firm contracts.
A senior executive confirms that a letter of intent (LoI) signed with New Century Shipbuilding for up to 10 vessels was not firmed up.
The Greek owner was said to have approached Chinese shipyards for the 180,000-dwt vessels.
