Spar reveals contract at Hantong now at six bulkers

Last week, TradeWinds reported that the Norwegian owner had declared an option for two 64,000-dwt bulkers at Jiangsu Hantong Ship Heavy Industry Co for delivery in 2015 and 2016. The first two ships were booked in June last year.

But it now appears the options included four units, which have all been declared, taking Spar’s total order to six bulkers.

TradeWinds was unable to contact Spar managing director Jarle Ellefsen last week as he was travelling but he confirms to Norwegian daily Dagens Naeringsliv that the order at Jiangsu Hantong now totals six units.
