BW does not court the limelight when it comes to the company’s LNG operations but its recent newbuilding moves have piqued market interest, writes Lucy Hine in London.

The Norway and Singapore-based shipowner is now a seasoned player in the LNG sector with 14 existing vessels to its name, 13 of which are backed by long-term contracts. Most recently, the company has added two — at the time seemingly speculative — newbuildings, and it will take delivery of a pair of as yet uncommitted floating storage and regasification units (FSRUs) in April 2015 and November 2016.
