Wilbur Ross-backed Navigator Holdings is closing in on a charter contract for a groundbreaking ethane carrier.

New York-listed Navigator, which missed estimates with its debut quarterly earnings this week, is expected to secure a deal for the 35,000-cbm vessel currently under construction at China’s Jiangnan Shipyard within the next few months.

The newbuilding, which will be the largest ethane carrier in the water when it is delivered in April 2016, will find employment within the next three to six months, according to Doug Mavrinac of Jefferies.
