Maersk Tankers has again turned to Euronav as the Danish shipowner continues to reduce its exposure to the crude market.

The Belgian owner has chartered three of the six VLCCs that remained under Maersk’s control after a $980m fleet sale in January on deals running for up to two years, brokers say.

Euronav is said to be paying $25,000 daily for each of the 302,000-dwt Maersk Hakone (built 2010), the Maersk Hirado (built 2011) and Maersk Hojo (built 2013) for one-year firm.
