The time charter that stands out is a four-year deal for Oslo-listed Solvang’s small VLGC, the 75,000-cbm Clipper Sirius (built 2008).
Last week, Solvang said the ship had been taken by an oil major and sources now say it is Statoil of Norway, which has extended its charter for two additional years, plus two one-year options.
The rate for the firm period is understood to be a phenomenal $60,000 per day — an all-time high for a ship of this size for such a period — and means the LPG carrier will earn $43.2m
