Foremost orders pair of capesizes at Qingdao Beihai

Bulker owner Foremost Maritime still has an appetite for ordering newbuildings.

The New York-based company is back in China for two 180,000-dwt bulkers at Qingdao Beihai Shipbuilding Heavy Industry, according to well-placed sources.

The vessels are scheduled for delivery in September 2015 and October 2016 and are set to cost around $55m each. The deal does not include any options.

Qingdao Beihai is one of the yards under the control of northern shipbuilding group China Shipbuilding Industry Corp (CSIC).
