The family’s order for 19,900-dwt stainless-steel ships at Fukuoka Shipbuilding in Japan has been increased by two to give a total of five sisterships.
Rieber also has options for five more vessels that must be declared within the next six months.
TradeWinds reported on the order for the first three tankers in September last year, with price suggestions of $32m per ship.
