Kuala Lumpur-headquartered MISC Berhad has lined up two en-bloc deals said to be worth $203m that will reduce its chemical tanker fleet by one-third.

Seven ships look set to leave the 22-strong MISC fleet, according to the two deals identified by brokers this week.

The biggest deal, said to still be on subjects, sees Dubai-based United Arab Chemical Carriers (UACC) take MISC’s four modern medium-range (MR) B-class chemical/products tankers — the SLS-built, 45,000-dwt IMO-II Bunga Balsam and Bunga Bakawali (both built 2010) and Bunga Begonia and Bunga Banyan (both built 2011) — for a reported $142m in total.
