First LNG ship arrives at Exxon PNG project

The 153,000-cbm GasLog Chelsea (built 2010) arrived at the Papua New Guinea-based plant on Wednesday.

ExxonMobil has said it expects to export the first shipment for delivery by mid-year as it increases production over the coming weeks. The company says it is “actively working” to secure spot sales agreements ahead of its first cargo.

The GasLog ship, which was acquired by the Greek owner as its first secondhand purchase last year, was fixed as a bridging vessel to the project in March.
