A German owner has fixed out a brace of post-panamaxes at rates indicating a sharp rise in the market for larger boxships.
Norddeutsche Reederei H Schuldt has secured charters for two of its largest boxships some 30% higher than was recently obtained by a sistership.
The 8,800-teu neo-panamaxes Northern Justice and Northern Jupiter (both built 2010) are said to have secured around $31,000 per day for a period of 10 to 12 months from Maersk Line.
