Another leading reefer operator is upgrading to fully containerised services.

Bonita-controlled Ecuadorian Line has pulled the plug on its specialised reefers and is opting to purchase slots on ships operated by Mediterranean Shipping Co (MSC).

The move reflects a trend among Ecuadorian and Mediterranean fruit traders to focus less on large reefers and more on liner shipments to cash in on greater economies of scale and lower freight rates.
