Panamanian bunker sales increased in 2013 but doubts loom over the sector’s future.
Bunkering tankers and barges delivered 3.44 million tonnes of marine fuels to vessels during 2013, a 0.9% improvement on the 3.41 million tonnes in 2012, according to recently released figures from the Panama Maritime Authority (AMP).
Nearly 4,700 oceangoing ships took on bunkers in Panama — a 3% drop.
