Norwegian shuttle tanker specialist Knutsen NYK Offshore Tankers (KNOT) has posted sharply improved results for last year, although the 2013 annual report shows impairment charges totalling $65.4m involving five older tankers.
Three were disposed of in late 2013, two for further trading and the third — the 123,000-dwt Vigdis Knutsen (built 1993) — for green recycling in China. Impairment tests were conducted by two independent shipbrokers.
