A long-awaited tender for up to nine LNG carriers to take on term time charter will be issued by Gail (India) next month.

The Indian energy company, which issued its fourth-quarter results this week, has informed waiting shipyards that the paperwork will be circulated before the middle of June.

The outfit is said to have indicated it needs more time to organise the business following India’s recent election of a new government led by the perceived business-friendly Narendra Modi (see also page 34).
