NAT this week announced the purchase of two unnamed suezmaxes for $36.5m each.

They will be delivered to the owner by August.

TradeWinds understands the deal involves the 159,000-dwt Energy Sprinter and Energy Skyer (both built 2005), which were constructed at Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI).

Online platform VesselsValue.com says the two tankers are worth $35m each.

The last comparable deal was in January, when Trade & Transport, an arm of Greece’s Callimanopulos, paid $35m each for the HHI-built, 159,000-dwt, high-specifcation SCF Byrranga and SCF Aldan (both built 2005) from Russian owner SCF Group (Sovcomflot).
