US private-equity firm Oaktree Capital Management has fixed out more wide-beam boxship newbuildings as charterers continue to upsize in the north-to-south trades.

The 5,400–teu quintet has been taken for 10 to 12 months by Maersk Line at $17,500 per day, say brokers.

The Wide Foxtrot, Wide Echo, Wide Delta, Wide Gulf and Wide Charlie are slated for delivery between August and November, 2014 when they are expected to be deployed in the Asia-to-West Africa trades.
